When groups need to find simple solutions to complex needs, that are very efficient to implement, a full, two-day strategic planning session can often be the answer. Formal strategic planning typically entails bringing representatives from all key stakeholders to a two-day retreat. Agenda items include: dreaming a practical vision; analyzing underlying contradictions, reorganizing for optimal strategic directions, and detailing implementation. Steps also include detailed visioning, a neutral look at current conditions, creative brainstorming, and a detailed calendar of action planning. Utilizing the work of the internationally recognized methods developed over the last few decades by the Institute for Cultural Affairs, and adapted to each group's needs.
