ToolTool Name: Action PlanningDescription: A proactive plan to complete a task, plan an event or energize a group's activities. Summary: Action Planning typically takes about a half-day and results in a coordinated calendar of events. Content: Action Planning allows groups to quickly identify what they want to accomplish, what their current reality is - strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats or “SWOT” Analysis - and then commit to what they can realistically do together. They identify key actions, cluster into teams, identify a starting calendar of events, and coordinate resources and deadlines. At the end of the half-day meeting, they have completed a preliminary action plan that they can flesh out with details as they work on the project. The Institute for Cultural Affairs developed the Technology of Participation methods upon which this work is based.Web: http://www.icaworld.org/ |
